March 4th: This Is the Moment to Show Up
The next Medford City Council meeting is March 4th, and it may be one of the most consequential ones yet for the future of the Main Street bike lane.
The turnout at the last two meetings has been huge! At the most recent meeting we had parents who bike their kids to school, local business owners, environmental advocates, seniors, students, people who have never been to a council meeting before in their lives. That diversity matters. This sends the message this is a community issue.
We need that same energy on March 4th
Who Should Be There
This fight isn't only for people who ride bikes. It's for anyone who wants Medford to be a livable, safe, forward-thinking city. That means:
- Parents who want safe routes for their kids
- Seniors and people with disabilities who benefit from calmer streets
- Business owners and workers who depend on a healthy downtown
- People who don't own a car, or can't drive
- People who drive cars but want walkable cities.
- Neighbors who just want Medford to be a city worth being proud of
If you've been on the fence about going, go. Showing up in person speaks. A packed room full of everyday Medford residents sends a message no email can fully replace.
Also: Please Re-Send Your Public Comment
We recently updated the public comment email address to the official city public comments inbox -- PublicComments@cityofmedford.org -- so that your message goes directly on the official record for the March 4th meeting.
If you emailed councilors directly before, please send again using the form on our homepage. Comments submitted to the public comments address are formally entered into the meeting minutes, which gives them more weight in the official record.
The Window Is Still Open
The council has not made a final decision. That means every voice, in person and in writing, still has the power to change the outcome.
Show up. Bring a friend. And make sure your comment is on the record.
March 4th. Be there.
