About 6.1 miles round trip. The out-and-back leg follows the Bear Creek Greenway, an off-street paved path separated from car traffic. The return uses the Main Street protected bike lane through downtown.
Where it starts
The ride gathers in the Hawthorne Park parking lot, off Jackson Street in north-central Medford. From there the group rolls onto the Bear Creek Greenway, an off-street paved path that stays separated from traffic.
The route
The full ride is about 6.1 miles. We ride south on the Bear Creek Greenway to Lithia & Driveway Fields, the city sports complex on the south side of Medford, and turn around there. On the way back north, the ride takes the Main Street protected bike lane through downtown, then follows Riverside, 6th, Bartlett, and 5th to finish at The Copper Plank, 202 N Central Ave. It is a relaxed, all-ages pace.
The finish
The ride finishes at The Copper Plank, a downtown Medford pub at 202 N Central Ave known for its beer and pizza. It is a good spot to regroup, grab a slice and a pint, and talk about safer streets in Medford.
